In one sentence

What you watch, read and hear stays on your iPhone: audio, your screen, what the microphone hears and the translated text never leave it. The app sends a small amount of anonymous usage statistics, and only if you join Share & Get Free Premium or invite a friend does it store the post link and invite code you submit. Nothing is used for tracking or to show you ads.

What the app processes

The app translates in three ways, all on your device:

Sound. After you start Screen Sharing yourself from Apple's system sheet, iOS hands the audio playing in other apps to the app's broadcast extension. Apple's on-device speech recognition turns it into text, which is translated on your device by Apple's Translation framework or, for some languages, by an offline translation model inside the app.
Screen. After you start screen capture, the app reads text in the screen images using Apple's on-device text recognition (Vision) and translates it on your device. Screen images are never uploaded; any frame held for translation is deleted when Screen translation stops. If you choose to record a clip, it is saved on this device as described below.
Live. Once you allow the microphone, Apple's on-device speech recognition turns what people around you say into text, a model built into the app identifies the language on the device, and the text is translated on your device. Microphone audio is never uploaded; it is saved only when you record a clip in Live, as part of a video in your Photos library on this device.

Throughout:

Audio, screen images and text are never uploaded. They are processed on your device. The optional recordings and transcripts described below are saved on your device.
Clips are saved only when you record one. If you turn on Record from the Window (Me › Try New Features; Settings in earlier versions) and start a recording, picture, sound and subtitles are saved as a video to your Photos library on this device. Clips are never uploaded.

Transcripts (Premium)

If you turn on saving transcripts, each session's text is saved as a file on this device only: it is not synced to iCloud and is excluded from iCloud Backup. Screen translation saves translations only. You can delete transcripts at any time; after a membership ends, saved transcripts stay on your phone until you delete them or the app.

Anonymous usage statistics

To understand which features are used and where people get stuck, the app records simple events, for example:

which buttons and screens are used, such as the settings, the subscription pages and the cancellation steps;
when a translation mode is used (Sound, Screen or Live), with the display option (bilingual, translation only or original only), the language pair and the membership status at that moment (free, trial, monthly, yearly or lifetime), and when a trial starts or is cancelled;
the subtitle card height;
whether this device can use Apple's newer speech recognition (recorded once; older devices use dictation instead);
your answers to the two optional first-run questions, about what you plan to translate and how you heard about the app, and any text you type into "Other" (up to 30 characters) or into "Can't find your language?".

Each event carries the app version, your device model and iOS version, your device's region setting, and a random ID created when the app is installed. The random ID is not your Apple Account, device identifier or advertising identifier; it lets us count how many people use a feature, and it changes if you reinstall the app. Events never include audio, screen images, subtitle or transcript text, what you watched, links, your name or your email.

The events are stored in the app's own database on Apple's iCloud (CloudKit) and are only sent when this device is signed in to iCloud. We use them only to improve the app. We do not sell or share them, and we do not use them for advertising or tracking.

Ad attribution

If you installed the app from one of our App Store ads, the app asks Apple once which campaign and keyword it came from (Apple's AdServices; no advertising identifier, no tracking across apps) and keeps that with the anonymous usage statistics. We use it only to see which of our own ads work. No permission prompt is shown because nothing is tracked.

Share & Get Free Premium and invites

This only happens if you choose to take part:

We store, in the app's own database on Apple's iCloud (CloudKit): the post link you submit, invite codes you create or enter, the free cards you receive and use, your membership status at the time, and your device model, app version, language and region, plus a random ID used only for this program (created on your device the first time you claim a reward, and unrelated to usage statistics).
So your free cards come back on a new phone or after reinstalling, records carry a one-way hashed identifier derived from your iCloud account. It is not your Apple Account, name or email, and cannot be turned back into them. Taking part requires being signed in to iCloud.
We open the post links you submit by hand to check them against the program rules.
Offer codes for 1-month or 1-year Premium are stored encrypted so only your device can read them; the key is kept in your iCloud Keychain.
Email us to have your program records deleted.

Feedback you send

If you choose to send feedback from the app, we receive your message, the email address you enter (optional), your device model, iOS version, language and time zone, and, if you choose to attach it, a diagnostic log. We use this only to reply to you and fix problems. Email us to have your feedback deleted.

Data stored on your device

Your settings (languages, display options, card height), usage counts, membership-related reminders, whether you have seen the introduction, your transcripts and your free-card details are kept in the app's container on this device. They are deleted when you delete the app.

When the app uses the network

Language downloads. The first time you use a language, iOS downloads Apple's speech and translation models (including the speech models Live uses), and offline translation models are delivered through Apple's App Store. Afterwards translation works offline.
Ad attribution. Once after install, the app sends Apple's AdServices a token generated on your device to learn whether an App Store ad led to the download.
Purchases. Apple's StoreKit talks to the App Store.
Update check. Once a day the app asks the App Store for the latest version number. No personal data is sent.
Usage statistics and feedback, as described above, through Apple's iCloud.
Free cards and invites. When you open the Me tab, the app looks up your free-card records in the iCloud database described above.
Feature switches and notices. The app reads a few feature switches from its own iCloud database and subscribes to in-app announcements; push notifications are delivered by Apple's push service.
Promotional offers. To apply a promotional price, the app asks our server at honoapps.com to sign the offer, as Apple requires. It sends only the product, the offer and a one-time random code.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the one-time unlock are handled entirely by Apple's App Store. We never see your payment method, card number or Apple Account details. That processing is covered by Apple's Privacy Policy.

Children

This app is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page.

现场翻译：你允许使用麦克风后，App 用 Apple 的本机语音识别把身边的人说的话转成文字，并用 App 内置的模型在本机识别语种，再在本设备上翻译。麦克风的声音不会上传；只有你在现场模式按下录屏时，声音才会和画面一起存成视频，放进本设备的相册。

整个过程中：

声音、画面和文字都不会上传。它们在本设备上处理；下文所述的可选录制片段和翻译记录会保存在本设备上。
只有你主动录制片段时才会保存。如果你在「我的 › 新功能体验」（旧版本在「设置」里）打开悬浮窗录屏并开始录制，画面、声音和字幕会以视频形式保存到本设备的相册。片段不会被上传。

翻译记录（会员功能）

如果你打开了保存翻译记录，每次翻译的文字会保存为本设备上的文件：只存在这台 iPhone 上，不会同步到 iCloud，也不会进入 iCloud 备份。画面翻译只保存译文。你可以随时删除；会员到期后，已保存的记录仍留在你的手机上，删除记录或删除 App 时一并删除。

匿名使用统计

为了解哪些功能被使用、用户在哪一步遇到困难，App 会记录一些简单的事件，例如：

使用了哪些按钮和页面，比如设置、订阅页和取消订阅的各个步骤；
使用了哪种翻译（声音、画面、现场），以及当时的显示方式（双语、仅译文、仅原文）、语言组合和会员状态（免费、试用、月度、年度或终身），以及试用开始或取消的时间点；
字幕卡的高度；
这台设备能否使用 Apple 新一代语音识别（只记一次，较旧的设备会改用听写）；
首次使用时两道可跳过的选择题「你准备用来翻译什么？」和「你是从哪里知道浮光翻译的？」的答案，以及你在「其他」（最多 30 个字）或「没有你想要的语言？」里填写的文字。

每条事件附带 App 版本、设备型号和 iOS 版本、设备的地区设置，以及安装时随机生成的一个编号。这个编号不是你的 Apple 账户、设备标识符或广告标识符，只用来统计有多少人使用了某个功能，重新安装 App 后会改变。事件中从不包含声音、画面、字幕或翻译记录的文字、你看了什么、链接、你的姓名或邮箱。

这些事件保存在本 App 在 Apple iCloud（CloudKit）上的数据库中，只有当设备登录了 iCloud 时才会发送。我们只用它来改进 App，不会出售或分享，也不会用于广告或追踪。

广告归因

如果你是点了我们在 App Store 上的广告来下载的，App 会向 Apple 查询一次是哪个广告系列和关键词带来的（Apple 的 AdServices，不用广告标识符 IDFA，不跨 App 追踪），结果和匿名使用统计一起保存。我们只用它来判断自己的哪条广告有效。因为不涉及追踪，App 不会弹出跟踪授权提示。

分享领免费会员和邀请好友

只有当你主动参加时才会发生：

我们会把这些内容保存在本 App 在 Apple iCloud（CloudKit）上的数据库里：你提交的帖子链接、你创建或填写的邀请码、领到和使用免费卡的记录、你当时的会员状态，以及设备型号、App 版本、语言和地区，还有一个只用于这项活动的随机编号（第一次领卡时在本机生成，和使用统计无关）。
为了让免费卡在你换手机或重装 App 后还能找回，记录里会存一个由你的 iCloud 账户生成的单向哈希编号。它不是你的 Apple 账户、姓名或邮箱，也无法反推出来。参加活动需要登录 iCloud。
我们会人工打开你提交的帖子链接，确认是否符合活动规则。
1 个月或 1 年会员的兑换码会加密后保存，只有你的设备能解开；解密用的密钥保存在你的 iCloud 钥匙串里。
如需删除你的活动记录，请发邮件告诉我们。

你主动发送的反馈

如果你在 App 里发送反馈，我们会收到你的留言、你填写的邮箱（可不填）、设备型号、iOS 版本、语言和时区，以及你选择附上的诊断日志。这些只用于回复你和修复问题。如需删除你的反馈，请发邮件告诉我们。

存在设备上的数据

你的设置（语言、显示方式、字幕卡高度）、使用次数、会员相关提醒、是否看过引导、翻译记录和免费卡信息，只保存在本设备的 App 容器内，删除 App 即一并删除。

联网的情况

下载语言：首次使用某种语言时，iOS 会下载 Apple 的语音识别和翻译模型（包括现场翻译用到的语音模型），离线翻译模型则通过 Apple 的 App Store 下发。下载后即可离线使用。
广告归因：安装后，App 会把本机生成的一个凭证发给 Apple 的 AdServices 一次，查询这次下载是否来自 App Store 广告。
购买：由 Apple 的 StoreKit 与 App Store 通信。
检查更新：App 每天向 App Store 查询一次最新版本号，不发送任何个人数据。
使用统计和反馈：如上所述，经由 Apple 的 iCloud 发送。
免费卡和邀请：打开「我的」页时，App 会到上述 iCloud 数据库查询你的免费卡记录。
功能开关和通知：App 会从本 App 的 iCloud 数据库读取几个功能开关，并订阅 App 内公告；推送通知由 Apple 的推送服务发送。
促销优惠：为了使用优惠价，App 会按 Apple 的要求请我们在 honoapps.com 的服务器为优惠签名，只发送产品、优惠和一个一次性随机码。

购买

订阅和一次性解锁全部通过 Apple 的 App Store 完成。我们不接触也无法看到你的支付方式、银行卡号或 Apple 账户信息。相关处理适用 Apple 的隐私政策。

儿童

本 App 不面向儿童设计，也不会有意收集儿童的个人信息。
